10 Necessities
I live like a Spartan. If anyone knows me even a little bit then they know that that statement is true. It gets to the point where some people that I don’t care about certain things. There is an image of me living my life without an attachment to anything and that I can simply disregard any and everything if necessary.
This is untrue.
Besides the basic stuff (food, water, clothes, etc.) and the abstracts like love, there are like six things I MUST have when I’m going somewhere to live or visit for any space of time.

shiny....
1) Laptop- Need it. I write. (should write more actually…) I can’t always guarantee that someone else will have a computer to use or will let me borrow theirs. I also use it to watch DVDs that no one else wants to watch with me. This comes in handy at the airport and when someone doesn’t have a readily accessible DVD player.
Plus it has some cool music on it and I doubt anyone I know has the Bear McCreary’s version of All Along The Watchtower.

mine are black and blue tho...
2) Small Notebooks- Like I said I write. Sometimes its too inconvenient to pull out the laptop so I just grab a little notebook and write in it. Or I use it for quotes I might hear or to sketch something out that comes to mind. Invaluable little tools. I used to actually have one for my Revenge List but I outgrew that and tried to get some peace in my life.
Also, pens. For the writing.

my brain. in mini-data form.
3) Travel Drive aka Atomsk- I keep pretty much my soul on this thing. I have a lot of the same stuff on my laptop and on www.box.net but all the good and most up to date stuff is on ATOMSK (yeah, I named it-so?). All my pics, stories in progress, completed works, germs of ideas and random information that I might need is on this little thing.
Also, I can’t always be guaranteed to find somewhere with an internet connection so I need instant access to important files, even if my laptop isn’t around.
4) VAULTZ- I have my pics on ATOMSK. This is true but I like to have actual photos.

think I might personalize it
There is something about tactile sensation. I keep this and other little important things in my VAULTZ. Souvenirs, little things people gave me, etc. It all goes into my VAULTZ. I would give it a cool name like ATOMSK but VAULTZ is good enough, I think.

where I hide my Cam'ron
5) iRiver- I’m broke so I can’t get one of them new-fangled I-Pods. (Plus, I kinda irrationally hate Apple so there is that…) I keep my stuff that I don’t have on my computer on my I-River. Mostly either nice R&B or hard rap is on there. Got a lotta Nas and Bob Marley Live to take me through long walks and long flight
Also, it’s helpful even if I’m not listening to music. I use it to credibly ignore people as well.
But never YOU. No. You’re SPECIAL. I’ll tell you how much as soon as I finish listening to DROP by Pharcyde, ok?
6) Cellphone- Mostly because like everyone in this modern age I no longer possess the ability to remember telephone numbers.

now with more Scotch tape
I used to be really good with it in high school and college. Now? Barely remember my own. Yet, strangely, I do remember my old house’s number.
Additionally, I like to text and check the net. Have to update twitter.com and this is sometimes the best way. Or if I can’t get my hands on a camera, I’ll use the shitty camera on it for quick snaps or video clips for YouTube.
7)Dogtag- Because I just don’t remove them. Ever. Hence the generic one below.

Say "Cheese", bitches!
8)Digital Camera- Found one for cheap. Takes much better pics and vids than the Q, as to be expected. YAY!
9)Wallet- Because I need all that shit up in there, son. Gum, cash, ID, cards….I NEED IT.

Wish I had a Twenty...
10) Bookbag- To carry all of this stuff and anything else I might pick up along the way. Plus, I like how it makes me look like a big boy.
